Bridges in the Middle of Nowhere
Revelation 2:1-7
Many churches exist as tourist destinations where visitors come from another land to experience and participate in a peculiar reality before journeying back to their homes and their “real” lives.  The church in Ephesus had become such a church, when it once had been a thriving, deeply connected congregation. What do we do when we become disconnected from our first love (responsiveness to God’s call) and, thus, from the natural receptacle of that love (the world). What does it look like to live relevant, mission-oriented, God-sent lives at the margin of “somewhere.”
